You may now explore any place real time and unfettered – just choose your path via the Myst Island forest. You would hear the crickets while the sun sets. Spin around to have a complete Sirrus’ throne room tour. And in the Stoneship Age, protect yourself from the thunderstorm. The game can be played in 3D, or the way the original game played. This feature would be quite handy for people who find the Masterpiece Edition’s 3D features a bit overwhelming.

Improved Graphics

Compared to the original version, the Masterpiece Edition has undergone quite a few facelifts. The environments in realMyst have been improved to offer dynamic weather, water, foliage, lighting, focus, etc. Also, the interface has undergone redesign to make exploring fun for both gamers and novices. The gameplay is quite simple too. If you are taking the non-3D or basic point and click route, just point the place you’d like to head, click on your mouse, and you would be on your way to the new place.
